We help people facing life altering situations

Care & Share, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was launched in 1990 by a handful of professionals who felt compelled to assist with alleviating poverty, providing health care, housing orphans, aiding the disabled, and rehabilitating victims of human trafficking. Acknowledging the excellent efforts of existing charities, Care & Share chose to work cooperatively with organizations that provided “hands-on” assistance to these needy groups, by helping these organization with the burden of fundraising.

During the first decade of its operations, Care & Share primarily supported projects in the United States, reaching the homeless and hungry through partnerships with Chicago-based charitable organizations, such as Olive Branch Mission (Chicago’s oldest charitable agency), Living Light Outreach Center in Englewood, Daybreak Family Support Center, Morning Star Mission in Joliet, Apana Ghar (Our Home), and a feeding program at the People’s Church. Care & Share also conducted several free eye clinics and provided the free distribution of eyeglasses to the most-needy people in the Chicagoland area.

Starting in 2000, Care & Share became more focused on projects in India, especially in the state of Kerala. We support orphanages, pain and palliative care units, dialysis centers, cancer and chronic kidney disease patients, shelter for elderly men and women, blind children, and rehabilitation centers for female victims of trafficking. We also help needy students with scholarships to achieve their dreams of higher education.

Care & Share has responded to many emergency situations by donating through World Vision, Red Cross, Salvation Army and UNICEF.  When Kerala was hit with two major floods, the worst of which was in 2018, hundreds of poor people lost their homes, and more than 600 people died.  Care & Share built several homes for those who lost their homes in the floods.

Care & Share has also helped those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic by donating groceries to those in the Chicagoland area and providing financial support to food banks in Chicago and Seattle.

Our motto is to serve the needy with compassion.
