About NISHABDA
Nishabda- (a Sanskrit word meaning silent or speechless) is a hauntingly evocative dance drama that confronts the devastating reality of gun violence with raw emotion and artistic brilliance. Conceptualized, choreographed, and directed by Julie Antony—an acclaimed Indian classical dancer—this production reflects over two decades of her service to the Indian community in Seattle. Julie’s legacy includes performances for cultural associations and fundraisers, including a $20,000 contribution to Prajwala supporting victims of human trafficking. Her artistry has also supported causes like Pain and Palliative Care, CRY, and Ladybug House.
Now, she brings you Nishabda—a dance drama that speaks when words fail.
Production Partners
Care & Share supports communities through pain and palliative care, disaster relief, and COVID-19 response. Their work includes medical aid, food distribution, education access, and rebuilding livelihoods.
House of Kala is a nonprofit arts hub in Seattle that promotes Indian classical music and dance through education, performance, and community engagement. It creates paid opportunities for artists and fosters cultural preservation.
