Kerala Chapter The beginning: Mr. Tonny Devassy, President Care & Share USA declared the formation of the Kerala Chapter of Care & Share on 29th December 2001 at YMCA hall Ernakulam. The aim and purpose are are to effectively implement and monitor various Care & Share schemes designed and sponsored for Kerala. The Care & Share award 2001 for the best social worker in Kerala was given away to Dr Roshan George MS., DOMS., of Roshan Eye Care Hospital, Tripunithura during the meeting, for the continuing commendable community service for last 14 years (Screened 80,000 people, Free surgeries with intraoccular lens implantation, Free phacoemulsification, Screening for school children at 79 schools). Hon'ble minister for youth welfare, Kerala presented the award. Kerala Chapter office bearers

The Kerala chapter conducts regular free medical camps with giving eye check up as priority since more people could be benefited within a minimum time frame by getting their vision rectified.

& Share USA when they visit India a gathering
of Care & Share volunteers, associates, and well-wishers
was arranged at Parekkat Hospital premises, on 23rd Nov
in honor of
Dr. Gopalakrishnan, Medical Board Director, and also Mr.
Andrew P. Thomas CPA, Secretary cum treasurer, of
Care & Share USA
visiting Kerala. Owing to unforeseen engagements Mr. Andrew
P. Thomas could not make it up. Dr. Gopalakrishnan
distributed the certificate of appreciation of Care And Share USA to
all the Camp Doctors
and Volunteers of Kerala Chapter on the occasion. He listened
to the performance of the Chapter for the period from Jan.2002 to
Nov.2002, which was given in detail . Also . the people behind the
show were introduced to him by the President of the Chapter Mr. E.
R. Menon. Dr. Gopalakrishnan and Mr. Andrew P. Thomas were honored
by the Chapter and a memento each was presented to them. The
Associates the well-wishers and the volunteers spoke of their
experience with Care &Share camps. Dr. Gopalakrishnan
in his reply congratulated
the chapter worked
as a family and the
Head Quarters appreciated their performance, he said.
