ACTIVITIES 2003

Free eyeglasses to the  selected patients from the camp held for the Kidney transplanted patients on 24/11/02 were distributed by Mr. Tony Devassy, President, Care & Share USA. at the IMA Hall, Ernakulam. Same venue witnessed another programme viz. the distribution of the Care & Share  Humanitarian Award for the year2002 to Maithree, an organization devoted to the cause of persons with suicidal tendencies. The award was shared by two persons viz. Dr. Vijayalekshmi Menon and Mrs. Naseema Majeed founder members and key persons in the organization. Hon’ble Minister for Tourism and Fisheries Prof. K. V. Thomas distributed the award to the recipients. Mr.K.M.Roy introduced the recipients to the gathering,. Mr. E. R. Menon President, Care & Share Kerala Chapter briefly explained the activities of the Chapter  to the gathering. Mr. Tony Devassy, and the Award Winners spoke on the occasion.  A reception was arranged at IMA Hall Ernakulam for Mr.Tony Devassy, President, CARE AND SHARE USA, recepient of the Humanitarian Award for the year 2002  instituted by the Indian American Civic & Culture Centre , New York. All the camp Doctors, volunteers, friends and associates of Kerala Chapter were present on the occasion. The performance of the Chapter for the period upto January2003 was presented on the occasion.  It was very much  appreciated by the Care and Share at its  Head Quarters level, Mr. Tony Devassy said on the occasion.

Another program followed thereafter was  the reception given to the newly wed couple , Mr.Manu Roy, Secretary, Kerala Chapter, and Mrs. Deepa Roy. All the volunteers , doctors and friends joined the occasion
